Three comparison modes
How it works
Flicker
Scene A and Scene B alternate around a brief neutral interruption. A warning appears before this mode.
Side by side
Both scenes remain visible in an untimed comparison designed for steady scanning.
Snapshot
Study Scene A briefly, pause, then identify the changed area in Scene B.
Read results narrowly
What the result does not mean
Missing a change does not infer an attention disorder, visual-health condition, or lasting personal ability.
Ways to compare
Accessibility
- ✓ A 4 × 4 keyboard grid provides a non-pointer selection method.
- ✓ High-contrast outlines reveal the changed area after the round.
- ✓ Reduced-motion preferences automatically replace Flicker with Side by side.
- ✓ Side by side is untimed and no instruction relies only on colour.
Change Catcher FAQ
Are these licensed photographs?
No. The scenes are original vector definitions from PlayNib’s reviewed starter pack.
Can Flicker be disabled?
Yes. Side by side and Snapshot are always available, and reduced-motion preferences prevent Flicker from starting.
How do hints work?
Hints progress from a broad half, to a quadrant, to an object-category clue. Each one reduces points.
Are party targets sent to players?
No. Mind Party public snapshots omit the target and hit region; normalized taps are validated by the server adapter.
